It's Tuesday Morning, and believe it or not I'm sitting in a Burger King
parking lot using they're free Internet b/c the Starbucks in town doesn't have wifi.
It's been a great trip so far. we rolled into town about 8pm on Sunday night after a smooth trip from Richmond to Weslaco. We were up early yesterday preparing for the day and what laid ahead. We spent all of yesterday working Ms. Aurora's house which included: Tearing down the two side walls of her house that were falling down because of rotten beams, organizing her house for construction, painting the new walls deep purple (Ms. Aurora's favorite color) and putting up the new walls.
Our people did an amazing job of loving on Ms. Aurora's family, playing chase with the kids, pulling them around in the wagon and reading them books.
Today promises more construction and canvasing the neighborhood to publicize tomorrows VBS. Please be praying for the residents of the colonial and our folks continued safety.

A view into what God is doing through the people of Grand Parkway Church as we follow His commands to pray, send and go.
Missions, at the core of its definition, is a sending out of people with authority to share the amazing news of Jesus Christ.
When you look at it that way, it's what we're all called to do as Christians. In Jesus' famous words at the end of the Gospel of Matthew, he says to His followers that as they are going into the world, He wants them to make disciples of people in all nations and to baptize them and teach them to follow Jesus. We do that as we shop or exercise or work as teachers or doctors or accountants. There are also times that we should step out of our routine and go to one of those nations, especially those where there are many people who have yet to hear the name "Jesus."
At Grand Parkway, we believe that missions is not an option.
We also believe that God has led us to some incredible opportunities to go to our city and to our world and use the gifts and talents He's given in order to live out the passionate plan Jesus has for making sure the nations hear of His name and truth.

I wanted to let you all know how much we're praying for you. I was watching the Olympics the other day and thinking about how much pride (bad word, I know) the athletes have in representing their country. I get sucked into the drama every time because, just like every other person watching, I feel the same joy when my country wins a medal. I'm even excited just to watch them compete and try their hardest.
To plagiarize the apostle Paul, I feel that you guys are like an Olympic team. You're representing God - and your church has a lot of joy in seeing your service and watching you reach for the prize.
Remember that you're being prayed for daily.
