The Carty's made it home to Central America

Many of you have been praying diligently for the Carty's as they made plans to move to Central America to work as missionaries with Answering the Call. Bart left this Tuesday; Heather, Eden and Nancy left Friday. Thursday, they had an offer on their house. It's kind of like the 10 lepers who came to Jesus for healing. They were healed "as they were leaving" to go declare themselves healed. So as the Carty's were leaving, God is in the process of selling their house. Pray now for all of the details to fall into place over the next month as they close on their house. Pray for peace and joy in the midst of the chaos that comes with any move, especially a move to another country.

At the orphanage

The team has arrived at the orphanage. They played with the kids and were met with lots of hugs. There are 42 kids there right now and they will start VBS tomorrow. The lesson will be about the prophet Elijah from I Kings 18:17-39. Pray that God would reveal Himself through the story of this man of God and through the words of our Grand Parkway missionaries. Since they are 9 hours ahead, pray for them as you are going to bed (as they are rising from bed).

The Team Has Arrived

Friends:

After a long day of travel we have arrived in Russia. Had our first Russia meal and are now at the hotel.

It is 10pm here in St. Petersburg (and very sunny) - and 1pm Sugar Land.

Bad News - Chris Dimmock's luggage did not make it to Russia. They are researching to find it. Please pray that it is found.

Good News - We learned from Natasha (Director of Russian Programs with Buckner) that we will have 5 interns (American/college students) joining our team to Lopukhinka. Plus we will have 6 translators. God is good in providing extra hands and hearts to reach these kids. Pray for the team works well together.

We head out to the orphanage tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for praying - we'll keep you updated.

Time to Go

Our first team of the summer is heading out tomorrow. They are going to an orphanage in Russia. It is filled with children whose parents are either unable or unwilling to care for them. Most of them do not have a concept of a personal God who made them for a purpose that is filled with hope and a future.

The team has worked hard to prepare themselves to go and tell them about Jesus, using all that God has given them. Let's pray for them. Let's pray the children. Pray for the caretakers. Pray for the parents of the orphans.

For specific ways to pray each day, go to www.grandparkway.org/news and click on the MidWeek Message link.

What has God given you to pray for this team?
