Update on the runaways

Thanks to everyone praying for the runaway orphans in Russia. They found two of the children who ran away but one of them, Victor, left again. Keep praying.

The Texas Party was today and the children really enjoyed the gifts. They were a great hit. The interns who have been with our team all week are leaving Thursday and that is also the last day of VBS with the kids. Pray for this time to finish well.

The Russia Team asks for prayer

The Russia team reports that they had a great day. They worked in the morning pulling weeds in the massive garden behind the orphanage. Then they played with the kids, did VBS and had "barnyard mayhem" and jumprope in the evening. Susan said that the team is awesome and so giving.

The team asked for us to pray for three of the orphans who ran away. The names of two of them are Deann and Victor. Pray that God brings them back safely and that they get the help they need. The three who ran away are 12 years old. Though it is not uncommon for older orphans to run away, 12 years old is young. The older teens in an orphanage have a difficult time. They've been in the "system" most of their lives and are facing being out on their own once they're too old. The crime and suicide rate among this age group of orphans in Russia is extremely high. Pray for God to give them hope for a future. The older teens at our orphanage are coming to VBS along with the younger ones. Pray that our team has wisdom to know how to reach all of the ages. And pray that the runaways come home safely!

Carty's Have One Less House

Praise God that the Cartys have a contract on their house in Texas. Many of you have persevered in prayer that their house would sell. It's celebration time! Pray now that the details involved with the closing would be worked out with no problems. Thanks for your persistence in prayer. Lord, we give thanks with grateful hearts.

Valentine's in June in Russia

Today was the Valentine's party at the orphanage. More kids arrived back to the orphanage and some kids were leaving so they decided to have the party a day early. Flexibility...one of the keys to missions! The team reports that there was a lot of fun, a lot of hugs and lots of love shared. They ended their night as a team with some great prayer and then off to bed. Tomorrow will be another day of VBS with a lesson on David and Goliath. As you go to bed, pray that God would demonstrate His power and love through the amazing story of a boy with God's strength defeating a giant. Thank God that these beautiful souls from our church left the 99 and have gone looking for the lost sheep in Russia.

Luggage report from Russia

Latest word is that Chris' luggage has been located and they were hoping it would be delivered sometime today. Pray for the team as they try to sleep. Pray that God restores and regulates their bodies so that they can awake refreshed and ready to be God's hands and voice and hugs.
